Laura considers West Virginia her home, as all but the first four years of her life, she has lived there. Traveling became her first passion and that evolved into capturing images of places she has visited.
Little did Laura realize that when she became a high school yearbook advisor, her life would change. Challenged to look at recording events photo journalistically, Laura began to study techniques to improve her craft. In 1991, she started Creative Photography & Design to specialize in services and products using photography and desktop publishing. She continually updates her training.
"Capturing moments in time" is Laura's goal in all of her photography pursuits. She creates realistic images that people can relate to. Digital capture is her primary format, Laura still experiments with other cameras. Another goal is to travel across all of the United States, so far she has set foot in 45 of the 50 states (including Alaska).
By the end of 2007, she hopes to visit the upper Plains states, and then only Hawaii will be left. Landscape/nature photography is a prominent part of her business, but she also does photograph seniors, families, and groups on location. Laura also does commissions.
